The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Release Date:
November 17th 2008
Director:
Andrew Adamson
Stars:
Georgie Henley, Skandar Keynes, William Moseley, Anna Popplewell, Ben Barnes, Peter Dinklage, Warwick Davis

Based on the original book by C.S. Lewis, Prince Caspian sees the Pevensie children back in the wondrous realm of Narnia one year after the events of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, only to discover that more than 1,300 years have passed in Narnian time.

During their absence, Narnia has been conquered by the Telmarines and is under the control of King Miraz who, determined to rid the country of its magic, has forced the native Narnians and the rightful heir to the throne - Prince Caspian (played by newcomer and rising Hollywood star Ben Barnes) - into hiding.

William, Susan, Edmund and Lucy become embroiled in a new remarkable journey and a struggle with the Telmarines as they battle to restore magic and glory to the land of Narnia and free it from Miraz's tyrannical hold.

Narnia itself might have changed, but with the return of much-loved characters such as the Pevensie children, Aslan, magical creatures, talking animals and epic battles, the familiarity and appeal of the original movie remain firmly in tact.

Popular new characters include dwarves Nikabrik (Warwick Davis, Willow, Harry Potter) and Trumpkin (Peter Dinklage) alongside talking badger Trufflehunter (voiced by Ken Stott) and the swashbuckling, sword fighting mouse, Reepicheep (voiced by Eddie Izzard).

Directed by Andrew Adamson, who directed The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, the film's block-busting cast also stars Liam Neeson as the voice of Aslan and Tilda Swinton is back as The White Witch.

When the adventure is over, viewers of all ages will also be treated to hours of bonus material to keep the whole family entertained during the Christmas break and beyond.

Highlights include "Talking Animals and Walking Trees", an insight into the movie's stunning special effects and the creation of the magical world of Narnia, audio commentaries and introductions by the cast and crew, never-before-seen deleted scenes and bloopers.

The high definition Blu-ray Disc takes the movie's block-busting special effects to a whole new level. With crystal clear picture quality five times the sharpness of standard DVD and 7.1 surround sound, fans will feel even more immersed in the magical world of Narnia.

The Blu-ray Disc also features "Circle-Vision Interactive: Creating The Castle Raid" - an unmissable additional bonus feature that gives fans an exclusive insight into how one of the movie's most gripping battle scenes was created.
