Series 2 kicks off with everyone's favourite PA, Betty (America Ferrera), becoming even further embroiled in the politics of the Mead family, while things in the Suarez household hit a new low. Mode Editor-in-Chief Daniel (Eric Mabius) is in hospital alongside sister Alexis (Rebecca Romijn) following a car-crash. Wilhemina (Vanessa Williams) is still planning her wedding to Mode mogul Bradford (Alan Dale), and Betty's father Ignacio is stuck in Mexico without a visa.

Events take a dramatic turn when Betty resorts to desperate measures to get her father a visa, (compromising her morals in the process), Betty's love interest, geek-chic hottie Henry (Christopher Gorham), returns to New York without his pregnant girlfriend, receptionist Amanda finds out scandalous details about her real parents, fugitive Claire Mead makes an unexpected visit to Mode's offices, and flamboyant Marc finds a macho boyfriend.
